Parent Involvement

If you would like to be involved in the classroom, there are several options.  All parent volunteers must complete and submit the volunteer paperwork, allowing time for the office staff to process the forms before classroom access is approved.  This practice was created in order to ensure the safety of all students.

  • You may donate your time as Room Parent.  This involves acting as a contact person for PFC sponsored fundraisers, and helping to plan classroom celebrations.

  • Parent Driver/Chaperones: We have planned several field trips this year.  This is a fantastic way to supplement curriculum and help bring learning to life for our students, but we rely on parent volunteers for transportation.

    • Alviso Adobe Park (March/April): This supports our social studies and science standards (Fossils), community development, and Native American studies (Ohlone Indians).

    • Kids Against Hunger: This is a service learning field trip.  The students will pack meals for children throughout the world.

    • Dublin Heritage Center/Civic Center (April/May): This supports social studies standards for community development and Dublin history.

  • Photographer: Photograph classroom and school-wide events to contribute to the yearbook!

  • Art-in-Action: Lead a series of art lessons, each utilizing a different style or skill.  These lessons are fun and easy to follow!

  • Junior Achievement: Lead a series of lessons to teach students the fundamentals of business skills and community leadership.

  • Project Cornerstone: Lead a series of lessons to teach the students character education skills.

  • I could also use help with filing papers, grading assingnments at home, and assissting with math centers.

**All volunteers must complete the appropriate paper work and submit it to the office (or send it to me) 1-2 weeks before participation.
